A Journey of Devotion: My Wife Sheetall’s 61-Day Fast and Her Unwavering Strength | Nikhil Pattani

I am humbled and deeply moved by the extraordinary spiritual journey my wife, Sheetall, has undertaken. As she completes her remarkable 61-day fast, I cannot help but reflect on her incredible transformation and the profound inner strength she has discovered. Watching her evolve from someone who once distanced herself from religious rituals to embracing such an intense spiritual practice has been nothing short of awe-inspiring.

Sheetall’s upbringing in a Sthanakvasi family did not involve the level of religious observance that my family follows. When she married into our Shwetambar family, which holds deep-rooted traditions of penance and devotion, it was a new world for her. My mother, Kiran Ben, and I had always maintained a strong connection to fasting and religious observance. I began practicing austerities at the age of 9, and by 17, I was fasting regularly alongside my mother. Yet, despite this environment, Sheetall remained largely distant from such practices.

For many years, she participated only minimally in religious activities, even during Paryushan. The idea of fasting or penance did not resonate with her, and she observed rituals only symbolically. While Jain monks and nuns often visited our home, she remained uninterested in these aspects of our faith.

Everything changed when one day, a Sthanakvasi Maharaj Sahib visited our home for Gochari and invited Sheetall to attend a sermon by Guru Maharaj, Shri Paras Muni Raj Ji. It was at that moment her life took a turn. Her first encounter with Guruji sparked something profound within her. Under his guidance, she took her first vow of fasting and successfully completed it with remarkable faith and dedication. This marked the beginning of her spiritual awakening.

Over time, her commitment to her spiritual practice deepened. She began listening to Mangliks regularly and found a deep connection with Guruji’s teachings. Last year, she completed an impressive 45-day fast, and this year, she took on the challenge of a 61-day fast, an act that required immense devotion and strength. At first, our family was concerned about how she would manage such a long fast, especially with the physical toll it could take. However, Sheetall’s perseverance was unwavering. Throughout the fast, she remained active and continued her daily duties, fully immersing herself in the spiritual process.

As I reflect on her journey, I am incredibly proud of the strength and resilience she has shown. Her commitment to this path has not only brought her closer to her spiritual self but has also deepened our connection as a family. Sheetall’s courage and faith serve as an inspiration to me and everyone around her. She has embraced this spiritual path with such grace, and it has been a blessing to witness her transformation.

I, too, continue my own journey of spiritual discipline, and together, our bond has grown stronger as we support one another in our respective spiritual pursuits. The strength she has displayed during this fast is a true reflection of her inner will and the guidance she has received from our revered Guru.

On September 20th, we will celebrate the completion of Sheetall’s 61-day fast in the sacred presence of Guruji at Manmad. This moment is not just about the conclusion of a fast; it is a celebration of her spiritual triumph and the deep connection she has developed with her faith. I know Sheetall feels immense gratitude toward her Guru for his guidance, and I feel deeply blessed to have been able to walk alongside her on this spiritual journey.

I must also acknowledge the unwavering support of our family—our children, my parents, and our loved ones—whose encouragement and love have played a pivotal role in her success. As a family, we stand united, proud, and inspired by Sheetall’s incredible achievement.

In addition to her spiritual accomplishments, Sheetall continues to excel as a tarot reader and numerologist, and she has been a driving force alongside me in our real estate ventures. Balancing her spiritual journey with her professional life and family responsibilities is no small feat, and she does it with remarkable grace.

As we prepare to mark this important occasion, I offer my deepest respect and admiration to my wife. Her journey is a shining example that with faith, perseverance, and inner strength, the most extraordinary challenges can be overcome. Her 61-day fast stands as a testament to the power of devotion and the possibilities that open up when one commits wholeheartedly to a spiritual path.

Sheetall, you are a true inspiration, and I am beyond proud of you.
