STAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOAL 11 means to make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.

The UN has defined 10 Targets and 15 Indicators for SDG 11 in which Target 11.1 talks about Safe and affordable housing. It states, "By 2030, ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services and upgrade slums."

Access to housing can play an important role in directly or indirectly addressing many of the 169 targets under the 17 goals. 

Notably, access to safe, stable, affordable and adequate housing connected to basic amenities is a prerequisite for access to stable livelihoods, health and education services, and social and cultural development. This is why achievement of Target 11.1 is likely to have a permanent positive impact on the achievement of many other targets.

Actions to be taken ::

Generate awareness of access to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic services. 

Proactive steps taken to ensure that all people can access information on housing and basic services, overcoming cultural and language barriers.
