There are several green certifications available in India that are recognized by the Indian government and international institutions. Some of the major certifications are:
1. Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification: LEED certification is provided by the US Green Building Council (USGBC) and is one of the most widely recognized green building certification programs in the world. The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) offers certification based on LEED standards.
2. Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) Certification: ECBC certification is a mandatory requirement for all new commercial buildings in India. The certification is provided by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) and is aimed at improving energy efficiency in buildings.

6. Cradle to Cradle (C2C) Certification: C2C certification is a comprehensive sustainability certification that evaluates products and materials based on their environmental impact, social impact, and circularity. It is provided by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute.
7. ISO 14001 Certification: ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems. The certification is provided by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and is recognized globally.
8. IGBC rating systems: The IGBC rating system is backed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and managed by the Indian Green Building Council, which was established in Hyderabad in 2001. Certified, silver, gold and platinum are the designated ratings, and buildings are assessed accordingly. There are nine different types of certifications, depending on the type of the project. These include certificates for new and existing buildings, schools, factories, homes, townships, Special Economic Zones (SEZ), landscapes and metro systems. It promotes the design and construction of buildings that operate in a manner similar to a living organism, incorporating principles of net-zero energy, water self-sufficiency, healthy materials, and social equity.
6. Passive House: The Passive House Standard is an energy-efficient building standard that emphasizes airtightness, high levels of insulation, and mechanical ventilation to minimize energy demand and provide high thermal comfort.
7. EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies): Developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), EDGE is a certification system that encourages resource-efficient design and construction practices in emerging markets. It focuses on reducing energy, water, and embodied energy in materials.
8. Green Building Index (GBI): Developed for Malaysia, the GBI is a green rating tool that evaluates the environmental performance of buildings based on energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor environmental quality, and sustainable site planning.
9. Estidama Pearl Rating System: This is a sustainability framework developed for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. It assesses the performance of buildings in areas such as energy, water, materials, and waste management.
