Silver Lining for an Ethical and Sustainable Real Estate Industry

Real estate in India has been a significant contributor to the country’s economic growth in recent years. The sector has witnessed tremendous growth and development, thanks to various government initiatives, increasing demand, and the growth of the Indian middle class.

Despite the growth and development of the real estate sector in India, there are also challenges such as a lack of transparency, high construction costs, and slow approval processes that can hinder the growth of the sector.

There is an old adage that says, ‘Every cloud has a silver lining’ and if we tab an eye on the courageous efforts of real estate expert Nikhil Pattani, we wouldn’t be able to confine ourselves to labelling him as a silver lining for the real estate industry.

A staunch advocate of sustainable real estate, Nikhil is known for his outspoken and eccentric personality. He is a knowledgeable Real Estate Expert, blogger and founder of Destiniva Realty LLP having more than 27 years of work experience in India and UAE, providing extensive knowledge about the real estate community and housing market. His expertise and dedication have helped more than 3,000 happy families find their dream home. Nikhil Pattani is also a prolific writer, painter, life coach, and motivational speaker who has changed many lives and helped many people fight against all the odds of life.

He Is advocating sustainability in real estate by promoting environmentally friendly practises in the design, construction, and management of buildings. He is encouraging the use of renewable energy sources, green building materials, and energy-efficient systems to reduce the environmental impact of buildings. Additionally, he is generating awareness of sustainable transportation options, such as walking, biking, and public transportation, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with commuting.

To fight against malpractices in the real estate industry, Nikhil Pattani is working to increase transparency and accountability in real estate transactions. He is religiously advocating for the use of standardised contracts and disclosure requirements to ensure that buyers and sellers are fully informed about the terms of their transactions. He is also calling for stricter enforcement of regulations to prevent fraud, misrepresentation, and other illegal activities in the industry.

While sharing his views, Nikhil Pattani said, “India’s real estate market is diverse, ranging from affordable housing to high-end luxury properties. The residential segment accounts for the majority of the market, with demand coming from both end-users and investors. The commercial segment, which includes office spaces, retail spaces, and industrial properties, is also a significant contributor to the real estate sector. The Indian government has implemented several measures to promote the growth of the real estate sector, such as the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA), which aims to increase transparency and accountability in the sector. The government has also introduced policies and incentives such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and the Smart City Mission to boost the affordable housing segment and the development of smart cities, respectively.”

He further said, "I am promoting ethical business practises in the industry and encouraging real estate professionals to prioritise honesty, integrity, and professionalism in their dealings with clients, customers, and other industry stakeholders. I am also advocating for education and training programmes to help real estate professionals develop the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in a competitive and rapidly changing market.”

“My motive is to transform the industry into one that is sustainable, transparent, and ethical, and that meets the needs of all stakeholders, including buyers, sellers, tenants, and the wider community,” added Nikhil who is also raising awareness about consumer rights and sustainable development goals.

Notably, green buildings are an important part of such efforts, as they are designed to be energy-efficient, resource-efficient, and environmentally responsible. By promoting the adoption of green building practises, Realtor Nikhil Pattani is helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the real estate industry and promote a more sustainable future.

It’s worth mentioning here that Nikhil is also introducing the Green Brokers’ Certification programme. This will help educate real estate brokers on the benefits of green buildings and encourage them to promote sustainable practises in their businesses. By doing so, Nikhil is not only promoting environmental sustainability but also creating a more ethical and socially responsible real estate industry.
